The knife uses an 86 mm Japanese tanto profile blade , made from high quality CPM-M4 tool steel .The blade shape used ensures increased tip strength while maintaining high cutting efficiency .The blade is covered in a grey DLC coating which has very high wear resistance and also protects the steel from corrosion. The blade can be opened comfortably with one hand thanks to the double-sided tang (made of anodised aluminium), allowing comfortable use of the knife by right- and left-handed users.Premium steel bladeThe new 537GY-1 Bailout model has a blade made of high carbon CPM-M4 tool steel, hardened to a hardness of 62-64 HRC. Due to the high molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten content, the high carbon content is balanced, resulting in excellent sharpness and tremendous hardness.Sharpening such steel is difficult and time consuming, so don't forget to care for the blade regularly. However, in return, the user gets a tool whose aggressive cutting and extremely long life perfectly compensate for the aforementioned inconveniences.Proven lockThe blade lock is of course the flagship of the Benchmade brand, Axis-lock , which is appreciated for its high load resistance, dirt resistance and ease of use. The double-sided lever can be comfortably handled with either left or right hand.Military handleThanks to the 6061-T6 flying aluminum liners, the knife design is extremely lightweight (76 g) and much more durable. The aggressive texturing of the handle and the widening at the bottom ensure a secure grip of the knife while working.The wide tongue and the possibility of rotation (left / right) allow the knife to be carried in a pocket or in tactical gear.
